Tarin Schreiner scored three goals to help lift the Midget A Humboldt Broncos to a series-deciding 7-5 win over Watrous on Thursday night.

Schreiner scored in each period of the victory, with his final goal being the insurance tally with less than one minute left in the game.

The Broncos took a 3-1 lead into the first intermission, with goals coming from Schreiner, Carter Tarnowski and Tayden Wallin.

Wallin's second goal early in the middle frame gave Humboldt a short-lived 4-1 lead, as Watrous' Brady Fossen quickly made it 4-2 90 seconds later.

Humboldt went up 6-3 after two periods following a three goal span in the final four minutes of the period, where Cody Bergermann and Schreiner had scored goals.

The Winterhawks made it close early in the third period, seeing tallies from Emmett Scheidt and Parker Osmak, but weren't able to find the equalizer.

Humboldt moves on to the semi-finals of the East Central Minor Hockey League, where they will meet either the top-seeded Muenster Flyers, or the Strasbourg Maroons.
