There will be no shortage of volleyball teams playing across the province this weekend.

Girls teams will be looking to punch their ticket to provincials, while boys teams begin their quest by participating in conference play.

After hosting conference play on November 5, the HCI Mohawks Senior Girls will welcome teams for regionals on Saturday.

Among the teams playing will be Lanigan, who has already qualified for provincials, as they will be hosting the tournament.

Saskatoon Christian, Outlook, Rosetown and Maple Creek will be the other teams competing.

The top three teams in addition to Lanigan will qualify for provincials.

12:00pm - Humboldt vs Lanigan
1:00pm - Saskatoon Christian vs Rosetown
2:00pm - Outlook vs Lanigan
3:30pm & 4:30pm - Semi-Finals
6:00pm - Regional Championship
7:00pm - Third Place (if necessary - if Lanigan is in the championship or third place game, it will be cancelled)

Other local teams looking to find their way to provincials include Quill Lake, Colonsay, Englefeld, Wynyard, Raymore, Foam Lake, Naicam and Wakaw.

Two other teams - Rose Valley and Muenster - will also be hosting provincial tournaments and have automatically received berths.


For boys teams, Englefeld and St. Brieux will be hosting conference tournaments.

In Englefeld, they will host Annaheim, Middle Lake, Cudworth and Arborfield, with the top three teams moving on to regionals.

St. Brieux welcomes 3A teams in one of the north conferences. Competing will be Creighton, Meath Park, Bellevue and Red Earth. The top three teams will move on.

Other local teams seeking spots in regional tournaments are: (2A) Colonsay, (3A) Strasbourg, Wadena, (4A) Humboldt and Imperial.
