Head Coach Cory Popoff, after a tough loss to the Melfort Mustangs on home turf.

The Mohawks lost to the Comets 41-35 in a back and forth game that had fans on both sides cheering.

Melfort opened the scoring with two rather quick scores to give the Comets an early 14-0 lead.

Dawson Hering hit paydirt for Humboldt, bringing the game back within a touchdown.

On Melfort's next possession, Jordan Seipp picked off a pass and ran it all the way back for a score, tying the game.

However the Melfort offence was not phased, and scored on the next possession, restoring their 7 point lead.

Jordan Seipp gave the Mohawks 6 more points with another pick 6, but the convert was missed giving Melfort a one-point lead.

Melfort added another touchdown before halftime, making the game clock read 28-20 for the visitors at the half.

Morgan Gobiel was due in the second half, he opened the scoiring with a touchdown trot of his own, bringing Humboldt withing one point.

But Melfort's offence would not be stopped, as they scored yet another touchdown,giving them their 8 point lead back.

Jordan Seipp completed the hat-trick on defence, as he added another score for Humboldt.

It wasn't enough however, as Melfort scored another touchdown and pulled away with a 41-35 win at Glenn Hall Park.

The Mohawks are in Clavet next week, as they play the Cougars.
