The SJHL trade deadline has come and gone with the Humboldt Broncos keeping their current roster intact during their quest for the Canalta Cup.

January 10th was the last day SJHL teams could make trades in an attempt to bolster their roster for a playoff push. Some teams like Flin Flon and Melfort made a few big splashes. Others such as Kindersley and the Broncos entrusted the roster they currently have.

"We had a couple players that we identified that maybe would have given us some improvement, little tweaks here and there. Obviously, the prices were pretty high with certain things and we didn't want to move any of the players here on our team. These players have put a lot into the organization this year, through the ups and downs, and everything that has gone on. I felt that I owed it to them, the organization and the community to keep these guys here. We're happy with what we have, we think we have a really good team here and we can do good in the playoffs," said Head Coach Scott Barney.

The Humboldt Broncos will test to see if their strategy was savvy in a home and home set against the Nipawin Hawks on January 11th and 12th to start the post-trade deadline run into the playoffs.
