Midget AA Baseball action returns to Humboldt Saturday with the Dodgers hosting the White Butte Broncos for a double header.

The team is younger this year than normal, with a few kids coming up from the Bantam Dodgers Provincial Championship team.

However, Coach Roger Gerwing has a good feeling about the team this year.

"The strength of our team is just going to be we're going to be strong at all levels. Just consistent pitching, defence, offence, and then the intangibles. We got a lot of guys that play heads up Baseball."

The Humboldt Dodgers are a young bunch with only 2 third year players.

Gerwing describes how important the new recruits will be.

"They've been well-coached. Mike Suchan was their coach last year, and he's helping with myself this year, as well as Murray Bauml. They're familiar with the kids, the kids are familiar with them, so the transition should be pretty seemless."

He also explains how the team did in North Battleford last week.

"We came outta there with a win and a tie, so we got to be happy with that. Defensively we need to sharpen up but all in all it was a good two games."

The Dodgers also play a double header in Lumsden against the Cubs on Sunday.
