The Humboldt Curling Club played host to 21 teams from around the province March 16-19 as the Travelers Club Provincials came to the city.

Three local teams hit the ice during the event, including two from Humboldt.

Representing the HCC in the men's tournament was Aaron Gaudreau, Jason Schlachter, Tom Johnson, and Joel McDonald. 

In the women's event the team of Amy Hogemann, Laura Jurgens, Erin Batty and Renea Jurgens hit the ice.

Collin Redman's team out of the Wadena Curling Club also competed along with Bruce Brownlee, Trevor Brownlee, and Michael Rattray.

On the men's side, Gaudreau's team missed out on the playoffs after going 2-3 in the round robin.

Saskatoon's Kory Kohuch was the winner, defeating Cliff Selander of Prince Albert 7-5 in Monday's final.

Hogemann's team made it to the playoffs following a 2-1 round robin record, however, they lost out in the semifinal, falling 5-3 to Rebecca Ryde.

Elaine Osmachenko of Moose Jaw won the women's event, knocking off Ryde 6-2 to complete an unbeaten tournament.

While no admission was charged for the event, the HCC says they were pleased to host the event and always look forward to welcoming CurlSask events to Humboldt.
