The Under-14 Humboldt Hurricanes boys soccer team ran the table at the Saskatoon SISCO tournament to secure the gold medal, while allowing just a single goal throughout six games.

On Friday, Tony Ward had the lone goal as the Hurricanes opened the tournament with a 1-0 shutout win over the Eastside Rampage.

With three games on Saturday, it was a repeat performance in their second game of the tournament - a 1-0 victory over the Lakewood Thunder. Gavin Hay scored the goal for Humboldt.

Games three and four were also symmetrical for the Hurricanes, but more comfortable to play in, as they took 5-0 wins over the Lakewood Cyclones and SUSC United.

Dalton Kiedrowski led the charge in the two wins, scoring six of the ten goals. Ward, Hay, Jonathan Ockbazghi, and Kent Buan had the other tallies.

The unblemished round robin record set Humboldt up for a re-match Sunday morning against United. Once again, they flexed their scoring muscle, securing a spot in the tournament final with a 6-0 win.

Ward scored a pair of goals in the semi-final win with Ockbazghi, Hay, Kiedrowski, and Teryn Zwarych adding in the rest.

In the final, Hurricanes keeper Jay Eichorst allowed his first goal of the tournament, but Humboldt still picked up the championship with a 3-1 victory. Logan Knutson, along with Ward and Hay picked up the goals.

It was the second gold medal in less than a month for the Under-14 team at a Saskatoon tournament, after they claimed the title at the Lakewood Kickstart tournament on November 8.

The Under-16 Hurricanes were also at the SISCO tournament.

They opened up the tournament with a 3-0 loss to the SUSC Spartans before winning the next two round robin games over the Lakewood Force and Hollandia.

In a 4-1 win over the Force, Robbie Hufnagel, Cassie Abel-Douglas, Teijon Abel-Douglas, and Dylan Larson scored the goals. Kazley Natlazo and Teijon Abel-Douglas scored the goals in a 2-1 win over Hollandia.

The 2-1 round robin record set Humboldt up for a semi-final match with Lloydminster, which they took 3-1. Natlazo, Larson, and Finlay Hart were the goal scorers.

All roads led back to a re-match of the tournament opener for the U16 boys, as they met the Spartans. Humboldt wasn't quite able to get redemption, dropping a 4-2 decision to take home the silver medal.

Aside from the tournament, the U16 boys are in the midst of their first season in the Saskatoon soccer league, as the first team from the Hurricanes program to branch out to the league.
