Local curlers from Muenster and surrounding towns came out to the Muenster Curling Club Friday and Saturday for the annual Ladies' Bonspiel.
Curling Club board member, organizer, and participant, Amy Yager, says that despite the abundance of winter sporting events taking place in the area at the same time of year, eight teams were able to secure the weekend for the spiel.
Yager says three games are determined and guaranteed, and the bonspiel included four end games, and a cash payout. The entry included a supper, and there were raffle prizes to be won.
"We have a good, supportive group of curlers in Muenster and surrounding areas", says Yager.
Fifteen teams comprise the Muenster Curling Club's mixed league, which meets every Wednesday and Thursday.
The next bonspiel scheduled to be hosted at the club will be the annual Mixed Bonspiel which will take place on March 9th and 10th.
