Cody Wourms and Chris Henry each had a pair of goals, and the Wakaw Lakers outlasted the Hague Royals 7-6 to capture the Fort Carlton Hockey League title.

Wakaw led 3-2 through the first period of Sunday's game in Hague before the home team tied the game at 4-4 through two periods.

With the Lakers leading 6-5 in the final minute, Hague tied the game with 42 seconds to play.

More dramatics came in the dying seconds as Kolten Fyfe buried the game, series, and championship clinching goal with just 13 seconds remaining.

The win clinched a three game sweep of the Royals, with Wakaw taking Games 1 and 2 by 5-2 and 4-2 margins.

It was Wakaw's first finals appearance since 2013-14 when they were the Bruno T-Birds and lost in five games to the Prairie Outlaws.
