It didn't take long for Steve Laycock and his curling foursome to make their mark at the SaskTel Tankard in Kindersley.

The two-time defending champions, which features St. Gregor's Kirk and Dallan Muyres as well as coach Lyle Muyres won all four of their 'A' side games to qualify as the first seed in playoffs.

Wednesday in Draw 1 they downed William Coutts 9-3 before handing losses to Scott Bitz by a 7-5 margin Thursday morning and capped the day with a 9-6 win over Dean Kleiter.

In the 'A' final Friday afternoon, Laycock paced to a 5-3 win to book their ticket for the 1-2 Page Playoff game which goes Saturday night.

Muenster's Bruce Korte will look to join Laycock in that game. They are on the pebbled ice in the 'B' semi-final against Josh Heidt at 8:00pm Friday. A win would put them in the 'B' final with a chance to enter the 1-2 game.

Jason Jacobson, which has Humboldt's Dustin Kalthoff and coach Kevin Kalthoff are in need of the long route to the playoffs.

After losing their first two games they were relegated to the 'C' side with every game now becoming a must-win.

They passed the first test against Coutts with a 10-3 win Friday morning and return for the nightcap against Dean Kleiter.

If they defeat Kleiter, an additional two wins would be needed to make the 3-4 Page Playoff game.
