The Broncos picked u their 5th straight victory at the Duncan McNeill Arena defeating the Notre Dame Hounds 5-2

After a 10 day break, the Broncos were back in action on February 6th in the 10th and final meeting of the season series against the Hounds.

The game opened up looking like Broncos had some rust in their legs following the break as the Hounds picked up the games opening two goals to take an early 2-0 lead. From there, however, it was as complete a game you could ask for from the Broncos in all areas of the ice.

Brayden Camrud picked up his 21st goal of the year, his 12th powerplay goal, assisted by Owen Guenter and Drew Warkentine to get the Broncos on the board and cut the lead to 2-1. 44 seconds later, Cole Kirkup got to the dirty area and crashed the net, knocking home his 3rd of the year assisted by Derek Patter to tie the game at two apiece.

In the second period, The Broncos picked up right where they left off. Zazh McIntyre got the monkey off his back scoring his first goal since December 2nd, his first point since December 12th, when he tipped in a point shot from Josh Patrician. Mitch Zambon provided the secondary assist. Just 17 seconds later, Mcintyre, high off provided the go-ahead goal, forced a turnover deep in the offensive zone and tapped it to Brayden Camrud. Camrud then slid the puck to the point to Josh Patrician who fired a seeing-eye shot past Hound's Goalie Matt Lukacs for the 4-2 lead.

In the third, the Broncos gave up some chances but Humboldt goalie Rayce Ramsay stood tall stopping all 14 shots faced in the final frame. Derek Patter added the empty-net tally as the Broncos defeated the hounds 5-3 to win seven games of the 10 game season series.

Rayce Ramsay stopped 30 of 32 in the victory.

The Broncos next task is a weekend set against the Weyburn Red Wings, both inside the Elgar Petersen Arena, and will look to make it six in a row on the front half of that back to back on February 8th.
