Five of six of our local teams at baseball provincials this weekend will hit the diamond at least once on Sunday.

The Bantam Muenster Red Sox are in Unity for the AA Tier 1 provincials, they won twice Saturday, they edged the Southeast A's 5-4 and downed the Sask Five Giants 6-2. They now get set for a tiebreaker against Lloydminster at 9 o'clock Sunday morning. For what it's worth, the Twins clipped the Sox 10-9 in extra innings on day one of the tournament.

The Bantam Humboldt Dodgers had a solid showing as well winning two of three, they suffered a tough 7-6 loss versus Macklin to start their Saturday in Regina at the AA Tier 3 tournament. It improved as they picked up back to back wins, an 8-7 shading of the Regina Blue Jays and an overwhelming 14-2 decision over the Regina Pacers in five innings. They will learn what's next for them following Sunday morning's contest between Macklin and the Jays.

The Mosquito Dodgers continue to push towards a provincial AAA championship. They improved to 3-0 outslugging the Saskatoon Dodgers 16-13 in their lone Saturday contest. They play their final round robin game Sunday at 8am against the Saskatoon Screwballs.

The Muenster Mosquito Red Sox are in Swift Current for their playdowns, they outscored the Battleford Beavers 12-7 and the Lloydminster Twins 7-5, they move onto the semi-finals against the Lumsden Cubs at 10 o'clock Sunday morning.

Macklin is hosting the mosquito AA Tier 4 provincials, both Lanigan and Watrous had teams in the field of nine. All four teams in their pool finished with records of 1-2 but through the tiebreak process Watrous was left on the outside looking in. The Pirates will face the Esterhazy Cyclones at 9 o'clock in the "A" pool semi-finals.
