The Midget AA Broncos were a little more like themselves on Sunday, defeating the Prince Albert Chill 5-3.

On the heels of a 6-0 loss at home to Warman on Saturday, Humboldt was looking to quickly forget about the previous day's game.

It was, however, Prince Albert finding the scoreboard first, with seven minutes left in the opening period.

That score stood up until the Broncos tied the game 1-1 with 6:31 remaining in the second period as Hunter Edmonds scored his first of two goals on the day.

Just over one minute later, Gavin Ingram put Humboldt in front on their second straight powerplay marker, which would give the Broncos a 2-1 lead through two periods.

The third saw plenty more special teams action on both sides, as the Broncos took a 4-1 lead on their third and fourth powerplay goals of the afternoon.

Brock Morrow scored at 16:18 of the third, while Edmonds deposited his second goal 1:21 later to give Humboldt a three goal cushion.

Prince Albert came roaring back with an extra man tally of their own 1:08 later to cut the lead to 4-2 before scoring shorthanded with 10 minutes to play to bring the game back to a one goal deficit.

Damon Vanderlinde put the game away for Humboldt with 2:42 remaining to give his team the win.

Dawson Cochrane made 35 saves in goal to secure the win, as the Broncos improved to 14-4-1 on the season - third overall in the Centre Four Hockey League.

With seven games left in the regular season, the Broncos remain at home for their next game on January 20 as they host Battlefords.
