Playing in their second tournament of the season, the HCI Mohawks Boys Volleyball team was in Saskatoon on Friday and Saturday.

The Mohawks were one of 24 teams in the tournament, with four pools of six.

In the five game round robin, the Mohawks had three wins and two losses, to finish second overall in the group.

Their victories came against Osler VCA (25-16, 25-18), Oxbow (25-16, 25-18), and Saskatoon Centennial (25-14, 25-23), while dropping games to Swift Current (15-25, 7-25) and Hepburn (22-25, 25-16, 11-15).

In the quarterfinal round, Humboldt lost two close sets to Saskatoon Holy Cross, 25-23 and 25-21.

That put them up against Meadow Lake in their final game, where they lost in three sets to finish seventh overall in the tournament.

Humboldt travels to Nipawin for their next tournament, which comes September 29 and 30.
