The HCI Mohawks boys curling team is one of seven teams from the Horizon Central Athletic Association seeking a spot at provincials.

Regionals begin Friday in Wadena and Foam Lake, where the top two teams from the boys and mixed formats advance to provincials.

The Mohawks begin their quest for a spot at provincials at 12:00pm when they take on Saskatoon St. Joseph.

Wadena, the other Horizon qualifier, will meet Saskatoon Holy Cross in their first game.

Humboldt knocked off Wadena in the district final last month.

In girls play, Foam Lake received a first game bye, while Wadena meets Nipawin and Muenster takes on Tisdale.

The provincial hosts for the girls competition is Ituna, so only the regional champion will advance, as Ituna automatically qualified as the host team.

Mixed play sees Lanigan take on Melfort in their first game, while Foam Lake is on a bye.

In Allan, the Colonsay girls team will meet Saskatoon Bishop Mahoney in their first game.
