Jacob Zimroz, Tanner Gerwing, and Morgan Gobeil each had three touchdowns, as the HCI Mohawks improved to 5-0 with a 66-0 shutout win over the Nipawin Bears on Thursday.

Humboldt scored on their opening drive for the fifth straight game, though for the first time on the year, it was a field goal, not a touchdown, as kicker Cole Grace knocked through three points to open the game.

The Mohawks ensured a quick fate in the game with four touchdowns in the opening frame.

Up 10-0, quarterback Landon Seipp connected with Gobeil for a TD toss, making up for a missed pass on the opening drive where HCI settled for three points.

Zimroz and Gerwing had the other first quarter majors. Gerwing, who splits between slotback and safety had an interception for a touchdown, giving Humboldt a 31-0 lead.

A second pick six would come in the second quarter, as Gobeil took one to the house. Zimroz had his second touchdown, lifting Humboldt to a 45-0 halftime edge.

The triple threat would each pick up a touchdown in the second half with Gerwing's coming on a punt return. Zimroz, the workhorse running back added his third major on the ground. Gobeil, also the team's backup quarterback, pulled down the ball and took it in himself, putting the final points on the board.

Heading into a bye week, the Mohawks will conclude their regular season on October 23 when they visit the defending provincial champion Melfort Comets.
