It was a battle of the top two teams in the Bantam North Central Baseball League Tuesday night, as the Humboldt Dodgers hosted the Lanigan Pirates.

Lanigan jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, before the Dodgers replied with four in the bottom half of the inning. Brandon Hilkewich had a lead-off homer. Humboldt then loaded the bases, and Braden Fleischhacker cleared them with a triple. 

The Pirates later jumped out to a 10-4 lead, with the Dodgers able to cash in a few more runs in the 5th and 6th innings.

Elsewhere, Wynyard downed Quill Lake 21-7.

In Mosquito, Wynyard 2 defeated Foam Lake 1 16-3. It was Foam Lake 2 over Kelvington 12-9, Quill Lake downed Wadena 19-6, and Wynyard 1 earned a 18-2 win over Archerwill.

The Muenster Red Sox Bantam AAA team fell 15-6 to the Saskatoon Blue Jays in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League.


The Marysburg Royals improved to 4-1 on the year after they defeated the Saskatoon Outlaws 6-4 in the Saskatoon Senior Baseball League.

Dean Jaeb picked up the win for the Royals, with Brett Doepker getting the save. Brent Puetz had a home run for Marysburg.

In the Richardson Pioneer Mens Fastball League Tuesday night, the Rosebud Royals split their games in Fishing Lake. The Fishing Lake Mariners picked up a 6-2 in against the Royals in the early game while the Rosebud squad defeated the Fishing Lake Cubs 23-11 under the lights at Fishing Lake.

In game 1 the Mariners got a few early runs, but Royals pitcher Steve Moulding settled in, holding the Mariners to six runs. However, Mariners Ace Dusty Keshane kept the Royals off the bases for most of the game only allowing two runs. Those runs came off the hands of James Holowaty with a two-run homer in the 6th. Keshane pitched all seven innings and had a three-run blast in the 6-2 victory.

In the late game, the Fishing Lake Cubs and Rosebud Royals had a high scoring affair. Pitchers Corbett Sabit and Jeff Paquachan threw for the Cubs while James Holowaty took the hill for the Royals. The Royals jumped to an early 6-1 lead after three and picked up a few more in the top of the 4th. The Cubs answered back bringing the game to a two run affair, 10 to 8. In the end the Royals bats proved to be too much with a 23-11 victory for Rosebud.
