It's been 159 days between road victories for the Humboldt Broncos but they finally picked up two points away from the Elgar Petersen Arena Wednesday night.

The green and gold doubled Kindersley 6-3 snapping a 25 game winless drought that stretched back to September 25th in Flin Flon, their second game away from the EPA, they also claimed their first on the road in Notre Dame but then just one point, an overtime loss versus these same Klippers.

Assistant Coach Brayden Klimosko was obviously elated after the game.

"It definitely feels good and the boys deserve it. They played really hard through out and we battled hard in the third when they had some push back and it wasn't easy for us by no means but we got it done and wow, that's been a long time coming."

In that overtime loss to Kindersley back in November, Humboldt blew a 3-1 third period lead led by Landon Gross who scored a hat trick including the winner. He is now in Estevan but the Broncos have their own 19 year-wing winger who wasn't going to let his team leave town without two points.

Trevor Posch scored three times in the final frame for his first career hat trick.

"Yeah, it feels good," the Leduc, Alberta product said of his 17th, 18th and 19th goals of the season. "My line-mates hooked me up tonight pretty good and things were going my way there in the third."

Kindersley actually controlled most of the first half of the game and had a 1-0 lead after one on Cody Young's first of the game with 1:09 to play in the opening frame.

Humboldt would battle back in the second on goals by Andrew Thompson and Landon Markovitch. Thompson's sixth of the year came just as a Kindersley penalty ended from Josh Bergen and Michael Korol. Markovitch, an affiliated player up from the AAA Midget Saskatoon Blazers blasted his first career Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League goal past Nathan Hargrave making it 2-1. Posch and Logan Schatz picked up the assists.

Going to the third with the lead again at the West Central Events Central the Broncos opened a big gap that they wouldn't relinquish led by Posch.

He converted a Schatz pass at the 6:55 mark making it 3-1. Chris Van Os-Shaw earned the second assist.

Posch would then finish a two-on-one with Schatz to make it 4-1 during a four-on-four stretch due to coincidental minors. That would momentarily end Hargrave's night after allowing four goals on 20 shots.

Immediately off the ensuing centre ice face-off with Brandon Bilodeau ice cold Korol and Daniel McKitrick combined on the win and Korol sped down the right wing and snapped his ninth goal of the year making it 5-1. Those goals came just eight seconds apart.

The Klippers wouldn't quit however. Brandon Scheidl would get his ninth during a four-on-three power-play and Young answered again making it 5-3 with just over six minutes to go putting a little stress on the Broncos.

The heavily improved Broncos made sure they wouldn't let Kindersley get any closer and with Hargrave, who returned to the game following the 5-3 tally back on the bench for an extra attacker, Posch beat Scheidl in a puck battle at the blue line and he fired it into the yawning cage to cap the scoring and collect his hat trick goal.

Posch said he is feeling really good to end the year chasing 20 goals.

"Just keep shooting, that's been my mentality these last few games, just shoot the puck as much as I can. A couple blocked ones tonight too but a couple went through."

Ryan LaRochelle finished with 26/29 for the win, Hargrave was on the record for four goals on 26 shots, Bilodeau allowed one on his only shot he faced.

Kindersley was 2/5 on the power-play with both goals in the third coming on the man advantage, Humboldt was 0/2.

The Broncos will close their 45th season Saturday night in Yorkton versus the Terriers. KMK Sales Broncos' hockey begins with the pre-game show at 7:15, face-off is 7:30.

The year end awards banquet is set for Tuesday night at the Pioneer Hotel.
