The Muenster AAA Midget Red Sox continue to roll through the 2017 season.

Taking a break from their regular season schedule, they took part in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League Selects tournament in Saskatoon which they won going 5-0.

In their first contest Thursday they downed the Saskatoon Cubs 7-1. Brody Frerichs picked up the win on the mound, Tyler McWillie and Thomas Bollefer also helped out.

In game two, they routed the Parkland Expos 13-3. Frerichs led the way at the plate going 3/4 with three runs batted in. McGrath also added three RBI's. Drew Bauml pitch 2.2 innings and got the win, Bollefer also pitched over two strong innings.

On Saturday they outlasted the Swift Current 57's 5-1 sending them to the semi finals. McWillie led the offence with four RBI's, McGrath pitched four innings giving up three hits and no runs for the win.

The Saskatoon Diamondbacks kept it close but in 11 innings the Red Sox claimed a 3-2 win to punch their ticket to the final.

In another tight ball game Sunday afternoon, Muenster blanked the Regina A's 2-0 to claim the championship. Frerichs didn't give up a hit in five innings, Morgan Gobeil closed it out giving up just one hit in two innings.

The Sox will host the Parkland Expos for a double header on Saturday.
