Three Muenster Red Sox pitchers combined to allow just three hits, as the Red Sox improved to 6-0 with a 4-1 win over the Saskatoon Dbacks on Wednesday.

Morgan Gobeil got his second straight start for the Red Sox, pitching three innings, allowing one run on two hits.

Saskatoon got on the board first, as their lone run on the night came in the first inning on a base hit.

The Red Sox quickly replied in the bottom half, as Kalvin Rueve ripped a single into right field to score Brody Frerichs.

Pitching would take over on a cool and windy night until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Red Sox pushed across three runs to go up 4-1.

Frerichs crossed the plate for the second time in the game after a single by Morgan Gobeil. Gobeil himself would later come around to score, along with Logan Hofmann.

First year Midget Matt McGrath came on in relief of Gobeil in the fourth and despite walking four batters in two innings, he did not allow a run, earning the win.

Muenster called on Hofmann to close the game out in the final two innings, and he made quick work in doing so, striking out four batters while allowing no hits.

Hofmann leads the league in strikeouts with 27, allowing just three hits and no runs in 12 innings pitched this season.

The Red Sox are off from league play until May 27, but will be in Saskatoon during the long weekend for the annual SPBL Selects tournament.

In the North Central Baseball League, the Midget Humboldt Dodgers defeated Lanigan 16-6 and Wynyard beat Quill Lake 11-1.

The Bantam AA Humboldt Dodgers knocked off the Saskatoon Blue Jays 17-4 in the Saskatoon Bantam AA League.

In North Central Peewee Baseball, Watrous downed Wadena Orange 17-3, Lanigan edged Wadena Black 7-5, Humboldt 1 picked up a 19-10 win over Humboldt 2 and Foam Lake outscored Wynyard 18-15.
