It was an up and down Wednesday for the AAA Midget Muenster Red Sox.

Taking on the Southeast Twins in a pair of makeup games from earlier in the season, the Red Sox committed four errors in game one, dropping a 7-5 decision.

The Red Sox got out to a quick 2-0 lead in the game, but the trail of errors led to a 7-2 deficit after four and a half innings.

After bringing in two runs in the fourth, a late push saw Muenster load the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but they were only able to push across one run.

In the second game, roles were reversed by the teams, as the Twins struck first on the scoreboard, with Muenster grabbing the lead after.

Logan Hofmann got the scoring started for the home side with a two run blast over the right field wall. Rylan Marianchuk followed that up with a run-scoring double. He later scored on a single by Jordan Breker.

The Twins were able to battle back to a 4-4 tie in the top of the fourth, but Muenster jumped back infront in the bottom half.

Muenster added three more in the fifth, and one in the sixth on a solo home run from Brody Frerichs.

Southeast rallied late, but it was the Red Sox coming away with a 9-7 win. Morgan Gobeil got the win in relief, pitching 3.2 innings.

With a record of 20 wins and 6 losses, the Red Sox are second in the SPBL standings, with four games remaining.

They host the Saskatoon Giants on Friday night and welcome the Northwest Pirates for two games on Sunday afternoon to wrap up their home schedule.

The last game of the regular season is Tuesday, July 16 in Saskatoon against the top-ranked Diamondbacks.

Provincials are in Estevan from July 21-23.
