The Marysburg Royals hit six home-runs over two games including a handful in the second contest as they swept a Sunday afternoon double-header over the Saskatoon Hoppers.

The Hoppers are the newest club within the Saskatoon Senior Baseball League and are supplied with a young roster and they held tough with the experienced Royals, game one finished 6-5, the second game was a little more wide open with he Royals winning 11-6.

Thomas Lessmeister picked up the win, former Muenster AAA Red Sox Parker McRae pitched five innings for the Hoppers. Cam Blair hit a home-run.

Carter Frerichs was the winner in game two, Brett Doepker hit two homers, Rylan Korte, Braden Bauml and Dustin Emberley all went deep.

The Royals are now 3-1, they host the Saskatoon Smokin' Guns next Sunday.


The Bruno Bisons earned a pair of wins in the Saskatoon Men's Baseball League.

In their first game, they blanked the Pirates by a 6-0 margin before edging the Rhinos 6-5.


The AAA Mosquito Humboldt Dodgers also swept a double-header Sunday in Bruno over the Saskatoon Blue Jays.

It was a good weekend for the AAA Mosquito Humboldt Dodgers, they scored 32 runs in two wins over the Saskatoon Blue Jays. Game one was 17-11, the second finished 15-7.

In the first game, Barrett Smith and Cam Marshak pitched, Marshak also hit a home-run. Carter Huls, AJ Paulson and Carter Dauvin pitched during game two, Marshak hit another round tripper.


The Bruno Merchants fastball team was in Irma, Alberta for the "Spring Classic." They finished with a record of 1-2, they dropped a 7-3 decision to the host Tigers and they were doubled up 4-2 by the Bulyea Rustlers. They downed the Calihou Chiefs 8-1 to close the tournament.
