Humboldt's William Dutton is being rewarded for his strong start of the speed skating season.

The 26 year-old was named the Sask Sport Inc. November Athlete of the Month Award on Tuesday. He was nominated by the Saskatchewan Amateur Speed Skating Association.

Dutton had the most successful month of his career in November. He placed second among 79 international participants in the 500 metre division at the Long Track Time Trials in Calgary on November 7th, qualifying him for International Skating Union (ISU) World Cup competition. At the first ISU event he placed second in the 500 metre and seventh in the 1,000 metre.

At the second ISU event , Dutton again placed second in the 500 metre.
