The 2016 High School Provincial Championships are loaded with teams from east-central Saskatchewan.

After Regionals took place the prior weekend, seven teams from the Horizon Central Athletic Association are looking to claim championships.

In 2A boys, the Lake Lenore Lancers are competing in Prince Albert.

They were awarded the fifth seed for the tournament and will meet the #4 team and hosts, Se Se Wa Hum at 9:00am.

The majority of action for HCAA teams goes in North Battleford, where four teams compete for the 1A championship.

Among them is the top seeded HCI Mohawks, who are looking to build off a second place finish in last year's provincial run. They take on Maymont at 9:00am.

Occupying the fourth seed is the defending champions from Lake Lenore. The Lancers meet Osler at 9:00am.

Two games at 11:00am will see the second seeded Muenster Cougars battle Rosthern, while Middle Lake, who received the #6 spot, will meet Lloydminster.

Semi-final games for all tournaments are played Friday afternoon, while Gold, Bronze and Consolation finals are all decided on Saturday.
