The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League took five of six games over the Manitoba Junior Hockey League at the showcase in Regina.

After sweeping all three games on Monday, the SJHL lost the first game of the day before bouncing back to win the final two games.

Humboldt Broncos defenseman Xavier Labelle, who had one assist in his team's loss on Tuesday, shared his thoughts on the tournament.

"There's a lot of skilled players here, so it's a pretty quick tempo. I thought there was some good battles out there, and it was a fun two days."

Labelle was joined by Broncos teammates Ryan Straschnitzki and Logan Hunter on Team Schwartz.

Hunter says that the event is an opportunity to help further their hockey careers.

"It's huge. It's a great thing for all the players to showcase their skills. Having two leagues and having all the scouts come here is good for the players."

Labelle added that given all the scouts and schools in attendance, no one wanted to slack off on the ice.

"Everyone is putting in all they have. They're working hard and putting in all they have so that they can get noticed."

In the final game, Broncos Captain Logan Schatz recorded one goal and one assist en route to being named player of the game.

With the showcase in the books, the Broncos resume their schedule on Saturday when they visit Melfort. On Sunday, Humboldt hosts Notre Dame at 6:00pm.
