Football Saskatchewan hosted their annual Senior Bowl games on Monday in Saskatoon.

Each year, top players from northern and southern Saskatchewan clash on the gridiron in 6-man, 9-man and 12-man games.

Kicking off the day was the 9-man game, which featured three players from Humboldt.

Jordan Seipp and Max Dale played on the defensive line, while Ethan Paslowski was on the offensive line.

The south got off to a quick start, returning the first punt of the game back for a touchdown. The north quickly replied with three big passing plays to even the game.

The two sides exchanged touchdowns, with the north holding a slight 14-13 edge at halftime.

In the second half, the defensive battle intensified, with only one point being scored in the third quarter on a missed field goal for the north. That gave them a 15-13 lead.

After holding the south on a would-be go-ahead drive late in the game, the north was unable to run out the clock with less than a minute to play, ensuring the south would get another opportunity.

A mishandled snap on the punt led to a short kick that went out of bounds at the north 32-yard-line.

The game would come down to the final play, when south quarterback Dallan Fendelet found a receiver deep down the right sideline for the game-winning touchdown with no time left, giving the south a 19-15 win.

Seipp had a strong game defensively for the north, breaking up multiple plays in the backfield for losses. His game earned him the top defensive lineman award for all three north teams.

Paslowski was a finalist for the offensive line award.

The 6-man game saw many players from Watrous and Wynyard take part.

After a back and forth first quarter, the north took over in the second quarter to gain a big edge at the half. They would go on to win 69-40.
