The first swim meet of the year took place for Special Olympic athletes in Humboldt last Sunday.

A total of 12 swimmers represented Humboldt at the meet last weekend at the Humboldt Aquatic Centre.

Humboldt raced against 9 other swimmers from North Battleford, Saskatoon, Swift Current, and Regina. The league is competitive but does not tally up points as some participants were in their first ever swim meet.

"All the swimmers did really well. Some posted personal best times, some were really close, so they did well overall," said Deb Stumborg, Meet Manager of the team.

Humboldt was only missing two swimmers during the meet and had the largest attendance out of all the clubs. Their next swim meet is expected to be held in Swift Current in January.
