After winning back to back games for the first time this year over the weekend a pair of Humboldt Broncos have been recognized for their on ice efforts.

19 year-old goaltender Ryan LaRochelle, who was reacquired by the club last week was named the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League goaltender of the week Monday.

LaRochelle stopped 58/62 shots over two games on the weekend, both victories. He turned aside 27 of 30 versus the Yorkton Terriers Friday night before making 31 saves in a 5-1 Broncos' win on Sunday over Weyburn.

Since the departure of star defenseman Greg Moro the Broncos' have needed someone to step up on the back end, that has been 19 year-old Saskatoon product Connor Swystun.

He was named the defenseman of the week by the SJHL joining LaRochelle.

Swystun has points in four straight games and goals in the last two.

Overall, the third year Bronco has five goals and 10 assists from the blueline.

Humboldt is now off until Friday when they meet the Battlefords Stars on the road at 7:30.
