On a cool, windy fall day, the HCI Mohawks improved to 4-0 on the season after defeating the Tisdale Tornados 51-14.

In all four games the Mohawks have played, they have scored on their opening possession. Slotback Tanner Gerwing kept that streak going when he found the endzone. It would be the first of a three touchdown day for Gerwing, as he added another in the second quarter.

Morgan Gobeil also have a second quarter major, but the Mohawks led just 21-14 at halftime.

In the second half, HCI lit up the scoreboard to the tune of 30 points with touchdowns coming from Jacob Zimroz, who had a pair, Tyson Hergott, and Gerwing's third.

A strong second half defensively for the Mohawks also featured some aid to the offence, as cornerback Braeden Crooks' interception set up a short one play, one yard touchdown drive.

The Mohawks head to Nipawin for a Thursday afternoon tilt with the Bears before going into a bye week. They will conclude the regular season in Melfort on October 23.

Meanwhile, the Junior Mohawks played their final game of the year on Tuesday, as they visited the Warman Wolverines.

Humboldt got out to a quick start, as Jayden Huls broke through on the opening kickoff, returning it for a touchdown.

Morgan Gobeil made it 14-0 for the Mohawks as he hauled in a pass from quarterback Carter Tarnowski in the second half.

Huls picked up his second major of the game on offence, as Gobeil scrambled left and right, eventually finding the slotback downfield for a 21-0 lead.

That would be the final, as Humboldt saw strong performances on both sides of the ball from Gobeil, Huls, Tarnowski, Dawson Hering, and Bray Berschiminsky.

A handful of turnovers helped the Mohawks as well, with Austin Knaus and Brendan Tremblay recovering fumbles.

Leading 10-3 early in the second quarter, the Huskies were outscored 56-9 the rest of the way, as they dropped to 2-3 on the year with a 59-19 loss at Calgary.
