The last of nine local athletes competing at the Canada Summer Games has wrapped up their competitive schedule.

Wakaw's Travis Walls and Saskatchewan's Men's Volleyball team finished in sixth at the games.

Saskatchewan started out the tournament strong, defeating Nova Scotia in three straight sets. After losing to BC, they bounced back with two wins over Prince Edward Island and Yukon.

In their final round robin game, Team Sask took on Quebec, falling in three sets, which included a 29-27 score in the finale.

Finishing third in the pool saw them draw a quarterfinal matchup against Alberta, which they lost three sets to none.

That dropped them to the fifth place game against the hosts from Manitoba. After dropping the first two sets 25-23 and 25-20, Team Sask won the third set 26-24.

However, they were unable to keep the momentum going, falling 25-10 in the third set to lose the match and finish in sixth place.

Walls will now prepare for his post high school playing career, which will continue at Brandon University in Manitoba.
