Humboldt's Tayden Wallin has all but wrapped up his high school golf career.

The grade 12 Humboldt Collegiate Institute student will end his school golf days with four straight district titles, something he said will stick with him for along time.

"Yeah it's a pretty good accomplishment I think, it's something that will stand out."

That exploit goes with a provincial title last year and a silver this time around.

Despite the strong four years he wishes it would have ended one spot better.

"Yeah, you bet. I wanted a little bit more out of it this year but that's the way it goes."

He finished two strokes back of Connor Tate of Kindersley at Madge Lake near Kamsack last weekend.

"I just didn't play my best golf, that's all really," he continued. "It was just the whole tournament, I just wasn't feeling it, wasn't playing near my best."

Despite the silver medal it looks like his future is bright as he explained Wednesday afternoon.

"I'm verbally committed to a Division II school in Texas, my mom and I are going to down there at the end of October and check it out and scope things out and hopefully sign in November."

Over the years Wallin progressed nicely as a golfer, he placed 12th in provincials in grade nine, that fell to 17th as a grade ten but he clearly took the next step in that summer before his grade 11 season.

Along with his high school accomplishments Wallin has a number Golf Saskatchewan wins to his credit.
