Rance Cardinal from Sioux Lookout Ontario says, "It was a sign".

"We were in a hotel. Fifteen minutes to get to the Jets game. Turned on the TV, and it was just like a shock of pain went through my body. Then, I thought, this ain't funny no more," he said.

"I told my uncle,'What would you do if I walked?' My uncle gave me a different look. It wasn't a look of doubt. It was a look of pride," Cardinal continued.

From there, Rance Cardinal took his first step.  Last week, he started walking to Humboldt from Northwestern Ontario last week in support of Humboldt and the Broncos.

The distance is about 1,200 km and Cardinal's not worried about how long it'll take. Making some assumptions on the calculation, Rance Cardinal is somewhere between 1 and 1.6 million footsteps into his journey.
