During the holiday months, the Humboldt Museum and Gallery puts on a silent auction and live auction to help people shop local and support a great local organization.

This year was the 19th annual Festival of Wreaths and the live auction wrapped up December 6th. Museum Supervisor, Jean Price, gave us the details on how it went.

"This year went fantastically once again, thanks in large part to all the people who donated items to the festival, all those who came out to bid and buy items, and all of our volunteers."

The money raised helps the community with different cultural activities.

"The money is raised for the Friends of the Museum so the money goes directly into arts and cultural programming for the community. It goes towards the concert series, the summer kids programming, the newsletter we do, and they fund a lot of the programs we do at the museum, gallery, original Humboldt and the water tower."

There were many items available for the auction. 19 items were used in the live auction with an auctioneer and then 98 items were apart of the silent auction.

Next year will be the 20th anniversary and Price hopes it will be something special.

There will be an open house at the Museum on December 12th from 2 pm to 4 pm everyone is welcome to attend as a way to say thanks for everything this year.
