Next Saturday night in Humboldt, the 1st Westminster Boy Scouts will turn back the clock to medieval times.

The group will put on a feast with entertainment and a menu based on the historical time frame.

"We're trying to go with the medieval theme, costumes are welcomed," explained leader Aaron Beheil. "I know there will be a number of people dressed up although you aren't required. We do have the Society for Creative Anachronism coming out as well, they are a reenactment group out of Saskatoon."

Part of their itinerary is live sword fighting, wearing full armoured costumes, they even take it as far with their mannerisms of etiquette, loyalty and generosity.

"Beheil explains even the food will fall into the theme, and how you eat it.

"Everything can be eaten with your hands, we may have cutlery available or we may option it off, the intend is traditional eat with your hands."

The money raised from the event will bu used to get troops to their national jamboree in Nova Scotia.

"Most of the kids have raised enough funds to meet our goal," Beheil continued. "We have about four of the kids who have a way to go because they joined later and then as well we have some of the kids talking about the 2019 world jamboree in West Virginia and there is also a 2019 jamboree on Vancouver Island."

Tickets are $50, they are at Scotiabank or you can call Beheil at 231-5800, Lorna has some as well, her contact is 231-6286.

The feast will begin at 6:30 at St. Augustine Parish hall.

You can hear more from Beheil who spoke with Bolt FM's Sarah Miller.
