The 2018 year has past and the housing market was stable and also saw steady growth for Humboldt and the surrounding areas.

Dan Torwalt, a local real estate agent in Humboldt, was happy with the way the year went and how constant the market was.

"Surprisingly, from talking to many people throughout the year here in town, people seemed to have thought the market was down, but when we looked at the stats we found the last quarter of 2018 was the best in 5 years for sales."

Torwalt also talked about what to expect from 2019, and what factors could affect the market.

"I don't see house sales going through the roof or anything, the only thing I could think that might be a dramatic impact to the market would be the addition of the new potash mine, but other than that everything looks to remain the same as last year."

He mentioned that there are notably more for sale signs out, which could contribute to a more buyer-focussed market.
