The 2815 Naicam Army Cadets held their 50th annual ceremonial review(ACR) Saturday.

This year 11 cadets to part in the program and for their ACR they welcomed the Commanding Officer of the Regional Cadet Support Unit Northwest to the town.

Michele Claveau made the trip from Winnipeg for the event, she explains what Cadets teach to people.

"It teaches citizenship, values, history, team work, leadership, discipline, basically so we can set up our youth to be the best Canadians."

This was a remarkable accomplishment for the small east-central town. It definitely was exciting for Claveau.

"50 years of history, it's indicative of many small towns across Canada. The rich history of how the Cadets started and what they give to the community, it's very encouraging to see it in small communities such as Naicam."

The ACR featured award presentations, a slide show the troops put together as well as marches followed by coffee and cake.

'There's so many different corps and squadrons throughout Saskatchewan, Humboldt, Wadena, I wish I could visit them all," Claveau continued.

"There's like 217, this is the best part, to get out and see what we support and the results of the efforts of the staff and organization," she concluded.

You can hear more from Claveau below in her interview with Bolt FM's Clark Stork.
