In the first week of November 2018, the Calgary Flames organization has sent out the warmest of condolences to the family of the late Darcy Haugan. They invited Haugan's sons, Carson and Jackson, to participate in practice with the team and take in some professional critiquing from current NHL coaches. The event was well-kept under wraps and shows the good intentions that were meant by the Flames organization towards the privacy of the family. Diamond dash cheque presjpgA cheque presentation to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation (HDHF) took place on November 14th at Diamonds of Detriot with the funds coming from the Diamond Dash competition in Humboldt. The competition saw teams use clues to dash around a scavenger hunt in Humboldt where they would perform tasks to collect points. The prize on the line was a diamond ring from Diamonds of Detroit. Paige DaubenfeldOne local young woman was the recipient of a very important scholarship. Paige Daubenfeld is a 2018 graduate of St. Brieux School. She will be receiving the 2018-19 Chancellors’ Award from the University of Saskatchewan. The scholarship, which is awarded based on academic achievement at a Canadian high school, provides $7,500 over four years, for a total of $30,000.
