PARTNERS Family Services is introducing discussion groups throughout the summer for parents looking for new ideas on how to handle their child's behaviour.

The groups fall in line with the Positive Parenting Program - known as Triple P.

"The Triple P Program is a parenting program that deals with kids from 0 to 12. It's for any parents that are looking for new strategies and tips," says Coordinator Jenna Holt.

For the discussion groups, Holt says that they have certain agendas already picked out.

"At these sessions we'll be talking about four specific topics, and they start in July," she explained. "We start with dealing with disobedience, and another one is hassle-free shopping."

Developing good bedtime routines and managing fighting and aggression will be the other two sessions.

Holt says it is a great way for families to find support and realize that they are not alone with everyday encounters.

"It gives parents some new strategies or tips for things that are happening day-to-day. Like, for hassle-free shopping, it's great to know how to do that effectively."

Excluding Canada Day, the program runs every Friday throughout July from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Partners office on 5th Avenue. It is open to anyone who takes care of children on a regular basis.
