The online Extreme Huntress competition has narrowed down their top six finalists for 2018, one of which hails from Allan.

Sherri Usselman didn't quite make the cut last year but she is thrilled to be moving on this time and making the trip to Texas in July.

Usselman gave us her reaction to finding out the great news, "I was pretty excited to be chosen as one of the six finalists and now that I'm actually in it I am getting kinda nervous for the actual competition but I guess that's all part of it."

While there, the finalists will film eight episodes that will run starting in September, voting will start in November and the Extreme Huntress will be determined in January.

Usselman is grateful for everyone that took the time to vote for her and for helping to promote herself.

The outdoor and hunting enthusiast is eager for this unique experience, "I've never been on a solely female hunt before so it will be interesting to see just the atmosphere with an all female crew, and just being there and just knowing that we're all there for the same reason, all hoping to get to the number one spot but basically just the experience of it all is what I'm most excited for."

The Extreme Huntress competition aims to preserve outdoor heritage by creating positive role models for other woman who are interested in hunting.
