It smelt a little fishy in the Lake Lenore Hall as the Lake Lenore Annual Fish Smoker took place.

The event ran from 1 PM - 2 AM on Saturday at the Lake Lenore Hall. Nearly 500 people, over the age of 19, from all over the province would enjoy freshly smoked white fish that were caught in Lake Lenore. This year 250 fish were caught and then served and sold.

Lake Lenore's Fish Smoker was originally founded by the owner of the pub at the hotel, Joe Proynch, about 25 to 30 years ago. Eventually, Proynch would pass reins to the Lake Lenore Wildlife Federation, in conjunction with the Community Hall.

The event does not cost any money for people to attend. Although, people can donate any amount they wish while grabbing a fish and drink. Those donations are split evenly amongst the Wildlife Federation and the Community Hall. Also, the Knights of Columbus ran a Quad Raffle to raise money for their goals and needs in 2019.

"It's been such a success in its uniqueness and it would be unwise to not continue it in my mind it's a very great event," said Tim Prodahl, a Member of Wildlife Commitee.

Later in the evening, people would enjoy some entertainment by "Six Fish Design."
