A series of complaints were called into the Humboldt RCMP involving thefts and break and enters in surrounding rural areas on October 10th.

The first complaint originated from the R.M. of St. Peter regarding the theft of fuel from a farmyard. Following that, over the next 24-hour period, more complaints in the surrounding rural area started to roll in.

During the morning of October 11th, the Humboldt RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 20 north of Humboldt. There, a vehicle in relation to the same investigations was spotted. As the officer approached the truck, the driver fled the scene. The officer was not injured nor did the RCMP pursue the vehicle for public safety reasons.

Later on that day, Humboldt RCMP found the suspect vehicle left abandoned in a wooded area in southern parts of Humboldt. The truck was confirmed to be stolen out of Raymore.

It seems that losing the vehicle would not halt the suspect form committing more crimes, as additional complaints about a male entering homes and yards in the area were received at this time.

RCMP then spotted the male suspect in the 200 block of 10th street. A brief foot pursuit did occur before the RCMP captured the male and took him into custody.

28-year-old Braeden Cole Dosch, of Annaheim, was arrested and remanded into custody. Dosch is facing multiple charges including Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000,  Break, Enter and Theft of a residence, Theft of under $5000, and Resisting Arrest/Obstruction (2 counts).

No one was injured during these events. The Humboldt RCMP would like to thank the rural and urban communities for their assistance in reporting suspicious activity, and in turn, solving these crimes. The Humboldt RCMP believe that the majority of the rural thefts in our R.M’s over the past 2-3 days are related.
