Humboldt's Superhero is once again using his super powers to help the less fortunate this holiday season.

A new limited edition of The Adventures of Auroraman Issue #1 has been released, with a portion of the proceeds going towards the Horizon School Division’s Christmas Hamper program.

The special edition is a collaboration with StudioComix Press, as owner Alfonso Espinos provides the new art for the comic.

Auroraman creator Jeff Burton says the special edition was Espinos' idea.

"They are double signed, so both by myself and by Alfonso, and hand numbered, as there's only 150 copies available."

Ten dollars from each purchase goes towards the Horizon Christmas Hamper Project, which helps families in need during the holiday season. Burton explains why he chose this cause.

"I wanted it to be something that was local but I'm kind of a guy with two communities. I was having trouble figuring out what charity I could do that would be beneficial for a bigger picture. All of a sudden it came to me, the school division does the Christmas hampers for families in need in the division, and I was like, 'this is great!'"

Those interested in supporting the cause and purchasing a comic can find more information on the Adventures of Auroraman Facebook page.
