Fifty champions of the last year were honoured by the City of Humboldt on Tuesday night.

Awards Recognition Night took place at the Elgar Petersen Arena as the Humboldt Broncos took on the Estevan Bruins.

During the first intermission, athletes were highlighted for their achievements in claiming provincial, western, or national championships.

Mayor Rob Muench shared some words as well.

"I always tell people, remember where you came from when you are out representing your community. Remember who helped you along the way and the community that was behind you," Muench said.

Among those recognized during the intermission were members of the HCI Mohawks Senior Boys Soccer and Volleyball teams who won provincial titles.

The AAA Mosquito Humboldt Dodgers won a provincial championship, while Jayden Huls and Rylan Marianchuk won a national championship with Team Saskatchewan. The duo and Morgan Gobeil were winners of a Western Canadian championship with the AAA Midget Muenster Red Sox.

Others in the ceremony included the Humboldt Hammerheads Swim Team, Calico Gymnastics, and Humboldt Special Olympics.
