Humboldt's Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Kinettes are getting set for a big fundraiser in June.

The two non-profit groups are holding the Diva for a Day golf tournament once again this year on June 4th.

Kinette Treasurer Carol Pratt tells us it's much more than golf.

"It starts out with mimosas and brunch in the morning for all the ladies and then we have a caddy auction so you can bid on your caddy that you want and then we go out on the golf course and we golf but on each hole there is also a vendor."

Those vendors last year included a photographer, yoga instructor, a zumba instructor plus taste tests from home based business owners. If you a vendor and are interested in getting involved you can call Pratt at 231-8970.

She says the event is going to be bigger and better the second time around.

"We are offering supper this year which we didn't have last year, we will also have the brunch and a bagged lunch to take out. We have a couple contests and some silent auction items rolling in."

Registration closes this Friday, you can contact Stacey at BBBS by calling 682-2829 to sign up either with a team of four or as an individual. It's $300 for a team or $75 each. All the money raised will be split by the two organizations and be used for their mandates whether it's Telemiracle or the mentoring programs offered by BBBS.

They are also encouraging dressing up, they will have prizes for the best dressed team, you can follow the lead and use pink zebra stripes for your theme or come up with your own.

They are also looking for caddies, last year both Humboldt Fire Chief and Deputy Chief Mike Kwasnica and Darrell Wickenhauser volunteered as did one of Humboldt's top golfers Mike Herperger, Broncos forward Michael Korol was on hand as well as Boston Pizza owner Evan Nyhus. If you want to volunteer your time during the day again, contact Stacey at BBBS.

Pratt says they are looking forward to the event just as much as the participants.

"I am, I am, I was also lucky enough to golf with the ladies last year too as well as help plan it when we were back at the clubhouse, it was a lot of fun out on the course."
