It was a weekend of healing and training for many dancers in the Humboldt area.

Be Discovered is hosting their Humboldt Strong convention at the Uniplex, in Jubilee Hall.

During this memorial weekend, local dancers can attend master classes in all areas of expertise, as well as bring to the stage their own pieces, from their journey towards peace after the crash.

Paige Sealy, the talent liaison for the event, who is originally from Toronto, says she has a business connection to Saskatchewan, but also personal connections as well.

"I have worked for Be Discovered for the past few years. I am Canadian myself, and my dad was actually born in Saskatchewan, as well as being a hockey player", Sealy said.

Be Discovered is a company that travels around North America, and does numerous events and workshops for dancers.

It shows them what it takes to be a true professional, and also gives them opportunities like scholarships and auditions for larger professional companies.

Hailey Manderscheid and Austin Mayor, of Humboldt and Strasbourg, were among some of the attendee's. Both have been dancing for over a decade, and are respected members of the dance community.

Mayor went on to say "Yeah, this is a great environment, the classes have been awesome, and I think when everyone went up on stage and explained their connections to Humboldt, it was a very special moment for everyone."

When asked about what the event means to the city of Humboldt, and it's citizens, they said this.

"I think grieving, it never ends. It goes through different stages, and everyone grieves differently" Manderscheid stated." Dance is a great way to express your emotions. Automatically- when you dance, you heal. It brought lots of comfort to me."

They will be hosting a showcase on Sunday, with pieces from local dancers, as well as choreography learned throughout the weekend.
