Another Humboldt resident has come forward, announcing his intentions to run for Mayor in October.

Harley Bentley has lived in the city since 1998 and feels that he knows the city well enough to take on the leadership role.

Bentley announced his plans to run on Tuesday morning, hours after Councillor Rob Muench became the first to publicly declare.

In a press release, Bentley says that through his time volunteering for organizations like the Good Neighbour Store, Royal Canadian Legion and Water Tower Committee, he has been able to gain knowledge of what residents are seeking.

He believes that the voice of Humboldt residents has "gone unheard for too long", and that change will only happen by electing a Mayor outside the current council.

"I feel the implementation of planning for growth and reconstruction must suit the best interest of the voting public and not just the interest of past agendas," he stated.

Wednesday is the final day for nominees to submit applications for Mayor or Council.
