Another successful year has come and passed for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Humboldt.

The group saw an increased number of kids served over the past year matching 38 kids with mentors.

Amy Hogeman with Big Brothers Big Sisters said the year held many more highlights for them.

"Our Bowl for Kids Sake last February which raised over $34,000 which is amazing, we also hosted our very first Diva for a Day golf tournament in June which was super fun and being that it was our first one we learned a lot from it and we were able to take a bunch of kids and volunteers to a Rider game in September which for them, if you ask them what their highlight was it was definitely the rider game."

Bowl for Kids Sake gets underway early in the year with registration forms going out within the next couple of weeks. They are planning to have a superhero theme this year to change things up.

The group is excited for 2016 according to Hogeman, "the future looks bright, I've been with the group for seven years and we just keep each year growing and serving more kids, so I have to say with the amount of people moving to the area and the new families and volunteers we've got coming through our door that it's just gonna keep getting bigger and brighter for Big Brothers Big Sisters."

The office will be closed for the holidays from December 22nd to January 4th.
