This Thursday the Humboldt chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters will hold one last fundraiser for this year's Bowl for Kids' Sake.

Development Coordinator Stacey Poss says a couple great sponsors have come on for Thursday's stew lunch.

"It's something that Scotiabank has come on board to help us do every year. It's their way of making that little extra bit of money by matching what we raise there and the Co-op is a great community supporter for us."

The lunch begins at 11:30 at the Co-op Food Store.

"The kids have the day off so bring the family down," Poss added. 'It's $5 for stew and a bun and that includes a drink and dessert. The Co-op really does a good job of a well rounded meal and a good value for your dollar."

They have raised $34,000 of their $40,000 goal.

Poss says despite the target not quite reached the entire region has been great for the fundraiser.

"I just want to say a super thank you to everybody in the community for believing in us and getting involved in what our mentors and organization is doing in the community. Despite the low sponsorship this year our community is really helping us fill that gap and allowing us to continue the level of service needed in our community."
