The home opener for the Saskatoon Blades against the Swift Current Broncos on September 22nd will not only be an exciting start to the season but also a tribute to the Humboldt Broncos.

Throughout the night there will be many different fundraisers taking place to go towards the Broncos and Humboldt as well. Funds raised at the game are going towards a new isolate machine for the Humboldt District Hospital which will help stabilize premature babies before transport to hospitals in Saskatoon.

As for the tribute to the Broncos, the Blades will be rocking custom "Saskatchewan Together Stronger" jerseys. An image of the jersey is displayed above as the design is similar to the Broncos jerseys, only presented with blue and yellow colours instead. The jerseys will be auctioned off with the money going towards equipment for the hospital.

Festivities begin at 4:30 P.M. in the SaskTel Centre parking lot. Xavier Labelle, who was a Bronco last year and will be performing the duties of a Hockey Operations Assistant for the Saskatoon Blades this season and will take part in the pre-game tribute to the team.
