Canadian Blood Services is hoping for a big surge in donations of blood.

The organization says they are currently facing a depleted supply and is putting out a call to Saskatchewan residents to help restock their inventory.

On Monday, a donor clinic was held in Humboldt, and with the shortage, they will be returning once again on March 19.

All blood types are accepted. CBS says O-negative blood is especially useful, as its red blood cells are compatible with every other blood type and is used in emergency situations.

Appointments can be booked in advance through blood.ca.
